Anton Smith

  

Dr. Anton L. Smith is originally from Riverhead, NY. Dr. Smith has taught courses in composition and African American literature at UCLA and Ethnic Studies at UC Riverside. Also, he has taught courses in comparative ethnic literature and religious studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles for the American Cultures Studies program. Presently, Dr. Smith is an English instructor at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. His current book project, In the Pursuit of Faith: Profiles in African American Literature, Religion and Spirituality, 1935-1965, examines the relationship between black culture and religiosity.
